Similar to the Traditional Service, a private viewing or visitation is arranged for close friends and family to say good-bye to their loved one. The day of or the following day, a service is held at the Funeral Home, Church or other location depending on the requests of the family.
The casket is not present at the service because burial or cremation has already taken place, however if the family has chosen cremation then they may wish to have the Urn present. A variety of memorial boards and tables will be provided to set up pictures, albums, memorabilia and any other personal possessions the family wishes to have displayed. Also, the family has the option of utilizing audio visual equipment to play music, videos and slide presentations. Sharing stories and memories of a loved one is an essential part of a Memorial service and encourages those who are suffering, to take the first steps towards healing.
A reception may follow the service or gathering while the interment of the urn can take place at a designated memorial site at a later date.
