Ronald Laurence Moore

ron-mooreRONALD MOORE

On Monday February 1, 2010 Mr. Ron Moore passed away peacefully at Royal Inland Hospital at the age of 95 years.  He is survived by his loving wife, Doris, his daughter Glenda (Doug) of Calgary, his son Rodney (Barbara) of Phoenix and three grandchildren Chris Hubick, Clayton (Neasreen) Hubick and Aaron Moore and ½ great grandchild.

Ron was predeceased by his sister Marjorie.

Ron will be remembered for his love of music, particularly when playing his beloved violin.  His years with the Golden Serenaders were among his favorite.  He was an ardent model railroader as well as a 55 year member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows.  Ron liked to boat, fish, golf, curl, play bingo and bridge, paint pictures, and travel.  He loved animals and people and delighted in delivering one-liners.  Life for Ron was about being happy and he will be deeply missed.  His kind and wonderful wife of 69 years, Doris knows this more than anyone.  As the very special Dr. Yanko would word it, “We’re all so proud of you, Rockin’ Ronnie”

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at the Renaissance Retirement Residence for their care.

A tea will be held on Friday, February 5, 2010 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Retirement Residence, 628 Tranquille Road.

Should friends desire, donations to the CNIB, #101 – 635 Victoria Street, Kamloops, BC  V2C 2B3 in memory of Ron would be appreciated.
