It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Olaf “O.J.” James Duemler on June 9, 2010 at the age of 22 years.
O.J. is survived by his parents Helen Garfield and Olaf Duemler (Sr.) and his younger brother Deyton. Also mourning the loss is O.J.’s cherished friend and companion Grace Henderson as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. O.J. was born March 12, 1988 and was raised in Cherry Creek. He attended Dufferin Elementary and graduated from S.K.S.S. in 2006. While in school O.J. enjoyed football and rugby and was involved in the 2004 BC Summer games. He also participated in a school rugby trip to England. O.J. enjoyed socializing, fishing, hunting, hobby farming and mechanicing.
O.J. had a smile that could light up a room and will be dearly missed by all.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Summit Baptist Church, 1975 Summit Drive with Pastor Harry Bicknell officiating.

My thoughts and heart is with you at this time Deyton and the rest of your family.
I know how hard it is to lose your best buddy – your brother. I grew up with two brothers and i have lost both of them. I will not tell you that you will get over it …. as i believe i will never get over losing my brothers – my best friends – but i do know that they live on in my heart and memory forever and i have learned to live with the loss. I get up and I breathe – some days that is all i do … but other days i can laugh and remember our times together … the games / the laughter and the pranks.
Hang onto that Dayton and OJ will live on forever within your heart and thoughts – just remember to appreciate and continue to love and live on.
IF youj ever want someone to go for a walk with …. well Auntie Barb always has a hand to hold or a shoulder to lean on.
Thinking of you!!
RIP OJ, Ill never forget you, I can still remember playin soccer on the field at Dufferin with you. My heart goes out to Mr. and Mrs. Duemler and to Deyton; he had a good life.

My sincere wishes at this sad time of your lives. Cherish your memories, I have a couple of OJ as a small boy sitting on the counter at the office.
My prayers are with you all these difficult days.
Shirley
our deepest heartfelt sympathy
My thoughts and mental hugs go out to all of you.
I will always remember OJ as the little boy who always gave me the window seat on the bus to and from school after I broke my arm so that the neighbourhood bully couldn’t hurt me on his way past. I remember the good man he grew to be as we went through both elementary and high school together. I’ve often heard it said that parents wonder whether their children grow to be good people. Wonder not: Deyton and OJ became fine men. I am truly sorry that OJ will not be able to continue to make this world a brighter place.
On behalf of all the Gowans family, we are saddened to hear of your tragic loss. Our deepest sympathy to all of you.
