“Mardie”

1922-2010

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Marjorie Beatrice Wood on May 16.  She was born in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan and married her true love Harry Wood on October 30, 1945 and they remained ‘Side by Side,’ until the day she peacefully passed away.  Mardie was a stay-at-home mom raising their four children- Daryl, Gar (Pat), Verita (Case van Diemen) & Lynnette (Mike Ferguson) and making their house a home. She was known as ‘Oma’ by her loving grandchildren- Ryan and Chad van Diemen, Jenny (Joel O’Gorman), Paige (Mike Hunter), Russell Ferguson (Kate Cooper)& Brad Ferguson.  Mardie was so loved by so many.

The family would like to thank the staff at Ponderosa and Ridgeview Lodges for their wonderful care of Mardie where she resided for the last four years of her life. Their care and devotion was exceptional. Family requests no flowers be sent but would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of B.C. Box 277 Kamloops, V2C 5K6. There will be a Celebration of Life for Mardie at the Legion Hall in Hope, B.C. May 29, 2010 at 2:00PM.

  2. Charlie & Mary Nash says:

    Dear Lynnette and family,
Charlie and I are so sorry to hear of your sad news. When a parent dies it leaves a gap that can never be filled. It’s really only when we have our own children that we come to realize the depth and intensity of our parents love for us. Lynnette, although I never met your mom, I know she was a wonderful mother for who could have raised such a great family.
    Our thoughts are with you.
    Charlie, Mary and Julia Nash
