I’m Free

Don’t grieve for me, from pain I’m free,

I’m following the path God has laid, you see.

I took His hand when I heard His call,

I turned around and left it all.

I could not stay another day,

To laugh, to love, to work or play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way.

I found the peace one sunny day.

If my parting has left a void,

Then fill it with remembered joys.

A family shared, a laugh, a kiss,

Oh yes, these things, I too shall miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life’s been full, I’ve savored much,

Good family, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,

Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your hearts, and peace to thee,

God wanted me now, from pain I’m free.

Joseph is survived by his wife Karen, children Curtis (Katrina), Colleen (Mark) and Clayton, grandchildren Danielle, Austin and Devon Konst and Lisa Holland.

Papa Joe had a special place in his heart for his 4 grandchildren and will be missed by family and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held in Smithers at a later date.

  6. Norman and Bonnie Merlo says:

Karen and family. I did’t quite know what to say, so I read the verse beside Joe’s picture. I’m sorry for your loss; he was a true individual and I enjoyed talking guns, cars or whatever subject, whether in town or at your house. He mentioned his pain, but I wondered if he was only telling me part of it. As the verse says, it was his time.
Take care, Karen. Our thoughts are with you.
