On July 30, 2010, John Angelo Cecchini passed away peacefully at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home at the age of 56 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Anna and children Angelina, Christina and Jonathon(Kaitlyn).
He was predeceased by his parents Angelina and Dominic Cecchini.
John grew up in Savona, B.C. and continued to go to his little place of peace on the lake.
John was very proud of his children and felt blessed to have his family. He loved watching Johathon play hockey and lacrosse, watching Christina dance and he valued and supported Angelina’s continuing studies at TRU.
John worked for Moly-Cop for 24 years and was very passionate about his job. He was determined to make sure that everything ran smoothly. John loved going to work every day and genuinely cared about the people he worked with.
John was a loving husband, father, mentor and friend who will be sadly missed, but will be remembered for the great person that he was.
We want to thank all of the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Hospice who showed great compassion and love for him and his family.
Prayers will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 5th, 2010 at Sacred Heart Cathedral. The Reverend Father Vernantius Ononiwu will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial in the Cathedral at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 6th, 2010.
Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Should friends desire, donations to the Kamloops Hospice Association , 72 Whiteshield Crescent South, Kamloops, V2E 2S9, in memory of John would be appreciated.
To Anna, Angelina, Christina and Jonathon(Kaitlyn),
My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family on John’s passing. In the brief 2 years that I knew John by working with him at MolyCop I had great respect for him. He was an extremely brave, smart, positive man with a huge heart. He would give the shirt off of his back to help anyone and was in particular always open to help me in anyway that he could. I will miss John and the brief time I spent with him. He was a great man that taught me a lot about LIFE even though he may not have known it.
I wish I could be there on Friday to express my sympathy in person but unfortunately I am in San Francisco at this time. Again, my deepest sympathy to all of you.
From Travis Kaczur & family (my wife Stacey and daughters Kendra & Kiana)

For Anna, Angelina, Christina and Jonathon(Kaitlyn),
Our prayers are with your family during this very sad time. It is so hard to say goodbye to someone you have loved forever. Remember all the good memories you and John have made together with your lovely family. Anna, it was so good to talk to you last week. I truly believe that there is a place where we are free from ALL the limitations we have on this earth and that there we will all meet again and truly know what we were meant to do here during our time. Time passes but love lasts forever.
I regret we cannot be there in person on Thursday and Friday for services as we will be away. I know you will be surrounded by family and friends that love you. You will all be in our thoughts.

Anna @ Family,
We are so sad to hear of John’s death. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. It’s hard to understand why a good person is taken away from us, but find comfort in knowing you were special part of a well lived life. May happy memories carry you through this sorrowful time. Remember those hockey days together, when John won’t sit just focused on Jonathon’s play. He’s truly a good person and he’ll be missed.
Sincerely,
Frank, Rina @ Family
Anna & Family,
I had the pleasure and honor to work with John for the last 24 years and because of our positions we worked closely together, during that time I have never known a man more dedicated, kinder and genuinely caring about all those around him and probably never will. John was very respected at work for obvious reasons and his legacy will live on. I struggle every day to understand why he was taken from us and miss him greatly. I guess that when my time comes knowing John he will probably be at those pearly gates to greet me gives me some peace of mind. I can only offer you my heart felt condolences but you should know John will allways be on my mind.
Rick Korba (a.k.a. by Johnny as Ricky my man)
Dear Anna & Family,
I had the pleasure getting to know John over the many months of his illness. John was kind, thoughtful, and he always managed to look on the bright side of life despite his disease. John told me to “always find time to have coffee with a friend”….I will do that more often in his memory.
Kindest regards,
janice from the Cancer Clinic
