
On March 21, 2010, James Douglas Allan passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Kamloops, B.C.
Doug, as he was know to all, is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Dorothy (McNair) and his 4 sons: Jeff, Chris (Karen Back), Wes, and Ed (Candice Baytaluke). Doug also leaves behind his grandchildren: Dustin (Kyla), Josh, Sammi, Tyler, Jared, Keaton, Meghan, Crystal (Maciej), Tenneille (Mike), Jeremy (Bonnie), and great-grandchildren: Lukasz, Josh and Bailey. Doug was predeceased by his parents and siblings Elsie, Jean and Howard.
Doug was born and raised a farm boy in the Kamloops area. He proudly served in the Canadian Army in Germany from 1953-1957. Doug always loved his guitar and mandolin and he could be found playing at parties or dances. He was a quiet man, with a sense of humour, and he was always helping fellow ranchers with branding calves or putting up hay.
Doug and Dorothy raised their sons on their ranch in the Deadman Creek Valley and then retired into the community of Savona, B.C. Doug was very active in the community of Savona and he always had several activities on the go.

A celebration of Doug’s life will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Tea Room at Schoening Funeral Service.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Yanko, BCAS, RCMP, Kamloops Fire and Rescue Services and their many friends for all their support.
