On April 9, 2010 Mr. George Carra went to be with his Lord, passing away peacefully in Kamloops at the age of 88 years. His is now reunited with his parents, two sisters and four of his brothers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, June, his two sons Dave (Brenda) of Calgary, AB and Kelly (Bette) of Pritchard, BC; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also left to mourn are his two brothers Sam Carra and Richard Carra.
Raised on the farm at Rowley, Alberta, George left at the age of 25 to move to Calgary to start working for the Canadian Pacific Railroad. A career that would span forty years, he started out wiping down steam engines. From there he moved on to fireman, then to brakeman and graduated on to Engineer. At this time he was able to share his knowledge by training others as engineers. In January 1987 he retired as Chief Engineer in Calgary. He continued to live in Calgary until he moved to Pritchard, B.C. in 2007 where he lived out his remaining years.
A loving and generous husband and father, he will be greatly missed!
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chase Evangelical Free Church, 295 Shuswap Avenue, Chase, BC with Pastor Pascal Adam officiating.

So sorry to hear about George. I have many happy memories of him bbqing in the back yard on 17th st. s.e. He would always sneak a weiner to Tiny. No one would ever know. My thoughts and prayers go out to you June and Dave and Kelly.
