Garry Wayne Schultz

schultzIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Garry Wayne Schultz on July 26, 2010. Born in Rush Lake, Saskatchewan on April 29, 1944.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Betty Ann Schultz and his devoted son Tyler Gavin Schultz. He also leaves behind his older brother Herman Schultz and wife Edna, their daughter Sandra Grey, her husband Steve and two grand-nieces Natasha and Andrea Grey, of Saskatoon.  A special mention also goes to his beloved cousin Marie Hahn and her husband Richard of Burnaby and their children Richard Hahn and Cherlee McNeil and husband Ian and their son Henry.

Garry was predeceased by his parents Herman and Nettie Schultz.

During Garry’s life, he enjoyed the freedom of choosing many different lines of work. For a number of years he was a security guard at Tobiano and Fulton Field, he was a car salesman, drove a school bus for Kamloops Christian School, as well as logging and mining. Mining was his true forte; he enjoyed all aspects of it and worked in the field for about six years at Cuff Lake in Northern Saskatchewan at a Uranium Mine. Garry went to France in 1985 to train the French in the art of underground drilling for the Coegema Corporation. In 2000, he went to Vancouver and trained as a long term caregiver. He was also involved in businesses in blacktop and concrete repairs.

Garry will be sorely missed by all that knew him, and will be remembered as a very social person with a great sense of humour.

He enjoyed ocean fishing with his son Tyler, dabbling in the stock market, and having coffee at the local A&W with his good friends.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Friday, July 30, 2010 at 11:00 a m in the Schoening Funeral Chapel, 513 Seymour Street.  Pastor Don Tyler of the Westsyde Baptist Church will officiate at the service. A reception will be held following the service. All are invited to come and share time with the family.
