Elizabeth (Lil) Harrison

On Saturday, the 28th of August, 2010, Mrs. Elizabeth Harrison (Lil) passed away peacefully at Kamloops Seniors Village at the age of 89 years.  She is survived by her three daughters: Pauline (Bob) Bates of Melbourne, Australia; Georgina (Derek) Peel of Cheshire, U.K.; Elizabeth (Graham) White of Yorkshire, U.K.; and her four sons William (Linda) Harrison; Henry (Jane) Harrison; Joseph (Kathryn) Harrison all of Kamloops; and Robert (Janet) Harrison of Ladner, B.C.; her brother James McDonald of Liverpool, England and her sister Mary Koleno of Rochester, N.Y.; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband William Harrison in 1994.

Mom was born Elizabeth McDonald in Liverpool, U.K. in 1921 and was very proud of her Liverpool roots.  It was there that she met the love of her life, William Harrison.  They married in 1940 and had seven children; William, Pauline, Henry, Georgina, Joseph, Elizabeth and Robert.  After the death of her husband she decided to immigrate to Canada in 1998 to spend her last years with her “lads”.  She became a Canadian Citizen in 2001.  She lived with Henry for seven years and then moved to Berwick on the Park in 2005 and most recently in Kamloops Seniors Village.  She made many friends in Kamloops and enjoyed volunteering in the Royal Inland Thrift Shop where she was her own best customer.

The Reverend Father Derrick Cameron will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Cathedral.  Cremation will follow and her ashes will be returned to England to be interred with her husband, Bill.

Should friends desire, donations to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation, 311 Columbia Street, Kamloops, BC  V2C 2T1 in memory of Mrs. Harrison would be appreciated.
