Elda was born on October 26th, 1930 in Kamloops, B.C. and with great sadness passed away peacefully at Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home in Kamloops at the age of 79 on March 24th, 2010. Elda will be dearly cherished and missed by her loving husband Victor and her four children: Paul (Helen) Martin, Vicci (Marty) Nelson, Brendan (Joey) (Jayne) Martin and Kevin Martin. To Elda’s Grandchildren, she was their beloved Nana: Jeremy (Katie), Christopher (Courtney), Stacey, Michael Nelson and Ashley, Kimberly, Andrew Martin, Bryan Martin and brother-in-law Giovanni Durigon .
Elda leaves behind also numerous nieces and nephews and many treasured friends whose kind support will always be remembered. Elda was predeceased by her mother Marina Comazzetto, her step-father Santo Comazzetto, her father Mario Comazzetto and her sister and brother in law Janet and Harry Maralia and sister Dorine Durigon.
Elda lived her entire 70 years in Kamloops. She was a lifetime member of the Sacred Heart Cathedral and a member and treasurer of the Little Flower Society and a member of the Can-Ital Society. Elda’s loves in life were her husband of almost 58 years and her family of the four children and eight grand children. There is no doubt that Elda is known in this community for the many lives she touched in cooking for weddings and banquets at the Columbo Lodge for over 40 years. This cooking also was Elda’s trademark in which nothing made her happier than putting together a feast for her family, and friends such as her Mount Paul Ladies group. Other interests were the Kamloops Blazers, her gardening and in particular her beautiful rose garden.
The family wishes to thank the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home and all their staff, Dr. Avanessian, the Cancer Clinic staff, and Ambulatory Care at the Royal Inland Hospital for their wonderful support and care. A very special thank you to Dr. Jim Mabee for his comfort and attention.
Prayers will be recited at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 28th, 2010 and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 29th, 2010. Both services will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral at 255 Nicola Street, Kamloops, B.C. Entombment to follow at Sage Valley Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden hospice Home, 72 Whiteshield Cres. South, Kamloops, B.C., V2E 2S9 or the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation Cancer Services Fund, 311 Columbia Street, Kamloops, B.C., V2C 2T1 in Elda’s name would be appreciated.

Dear Vic and Family
I am shocked and saddened to hear of your loss. Elda was a dear friend, I cannot think of her without thoughts of all the Martin family and happy times that we’ve spent together. Elda contributed so much to all those gatherings just as she generously gave her time to the community of Kamloops that she loved. Elda was one of those good, solid people that we think will always be with us, sadly her life has ended and we will all miss her.
Please accept my condolences.
Love, Marlene Cochrane
