On June 10, 2010 Mrs. Lily Colville passed away at Kamloops at the age of 101 years. She was born December 22, 1908 in Barrow-In-Furness, Lancashire, England to Valentine and Hannah Devenport. Her life’s journey took her to Australia, New Zealand back to England, then to Canada when she was 15.
They settled in the Biggar, Saskatchewan area, where she married and had six children. They moved to Prince George in 1950 and returned to Mission in 1968. Lily moved to Savona in 1976 after George passed away. She was predeceased by her 1st husband Leslie Colville, her 2nd husband George Colville, only daughter Dorothy Kozloski, grandsons Gary and Neal Colville. She is survived by her five sons, Charles (Janet), Bob (Fern) and Edward (Fay) all of Prince George, Albert (Fran) of Williams Lake and Fred (Glenda) of Savona, 20 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 17 great, great grandchildren and dear friend Betty Koeneman.
A Graveside Service will be held in the Savona Cemetery on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. followed by memory sharing and a Celebration of Lily’s life at 2:00 p.m. in the Savona Community Hall.

Gino passed into the presence of Jesus on June 10, 2010. He is lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 61 years, Venise (nee Fuoco), sister-in-law Dora Fuoco of Kamloops, three sons: Ralph (Sandy) of Kamloops Don (Anne) and Frank of Calgary, two grandchildren: Ryan (Brooke) of Penticton and Melissa (Troy Lust) of Grand Prairie and his great-grandchild Mia Lust of Grand Prairie.
Born March 5, 1925 in Revelstoke, B.C., Gino left at age 16 to work the shipyards in Vancouver. He later joined the CPR in June 1943 and volunteered for the Royal Canadian Engineers Army Corp. He was shipped overseas to England in 1944 joining the Queen’s Own Cameron Hjghlanders, Division 3 which landed on Juno Beach June 6, 1944 (D-Day). He later volunteered for occupational duty in Germany. His commitment to his country earned him five medals of valour. Upon returning from the war, Gino continued to work for the CPR and earned the respect of his peers as an engineer. He retired from the CPR June 30, 1981 in Kamloops after 38 years. Gino was very active in the community and was a member of the Colombo Lodge for over 60 years, being president three times. His passion was his family and friends and always put them first. To many, he was known as “Mr. fix it” and built the house his family was brought up and resides in. He loved sports, though his true passion was music, mastering the guitar, mouth organ, keyboard and accordion. He led his band The Serenaders, now know as The Golden Serenaders for over 50 years; playing many functions and always bringing a smile to those who were in attendance. He touched many people over his 85 years and will be greatly missed.

David Reginald Bryce
June 10, 1935 – June 8, 2010
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Reginald Bryce, on June 8th, 2010, at his home in Kamloops, just 2 days shy of his 75th birthday. In recent months he had bravely faced increasing challenges with deteriorating health circumstances. Survived by his loving wife, Dorothy, children: Laura (Paul) and Mike (Linda), and step-children: Tim (Susan) Weiss, Leslie (Raymond) Meidl, and Cindy (Jeff) Harvey, brothers Larry (Janice) and Don, brothers-in-law Robert and Don Haudenschild, sister in law, Betty McBryan, his Aunt Joan (Ken) Sandborn, as well as nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, along with many lifelong friends and fishing buddies. David was predeceased by his first wife Kathleen, parents Laura Lees and David Bryce Sr., and brother Lloyd.
David was accepted into the RCMP in 1953, and provided over thirty-five years of recognized service to the force, retiring in 1989 at the rank of Staff Sergeant. His assignments took him to many parts of Canada, and he settled in Kamloops, B.C., in 1979 for the final phase of his service.
During his years in Kamloops, he enthusiastically pursued his passion for fly fishing on the many lakes in the region. He took on integral roles with the Kamloops Flyfisher’s club, where he made many lifelong friends who shared his love of the outdoors. His favorite place was clearly the family cabin at Sheridan Lake, B.C., where he spent much time with his wife Dorothy and the SLOB’s (Sheridan Lake Old Boys).
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Royal Inland Hospital for the care they provided Dave during his intermittent hospital stays over his final months. Special thanks to Dr. Steyn for his kindness over the last two months, and to Dr. Mabee for his years of attention and support. Thanks are also warranted to the BC Ambulance service, and the Kamloops Fire Department, for their assistance at the residence in recent months.
David will be sadly missed, and very fondly remembered by many.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jim Endert of Kamloops, after a long battle with cancer on June 7, 2010. Jim will be deeply missed by his wife of 45 years, Maryann and their children Kathy (Alf), Susanna (Jim), Judy (Ken) and Jackie (Ken) and their children James, Alisha, Sami, Matt, Tori, Sara, Caleb and Madisson.
Jim was born February 25, 1941 in Kenora, Ontario. He was raised in Maple Ridge, B.C. where he graduated from Maple Ridge Secondary in 1960. After a short term in the RCAF, he finished his plumbing apprenticeship and worked till 1982 after which he taught the Plumbing Code at BCIT from 1982 – 1997. He retired on Loon Lake in 1997 where he enjoyed fishing and hunting until 2007, and then moved to Kamloops.
Endless thanks to Dr. Langford for his care and support and all the nursing staff at 7 North in the Royal Inland Hospital.
Celebration of his life will be held on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. in the Schoening Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Viktor Gundel officiating.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mrs. Rita Schweder of Kamloops on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the age of 87 years. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Melody (Alan) Isenor, Jill Schweder and Darlene Schweder all of Kamloops, her four grandchildren Devon and Angelee Isenor, Holly and Kira Cheeseborough. Also left to cherish her memory are her brothers and sisters, Marigold Hermatz, Martha McCloskey, Helen Chrysler (Albert), Elsie May (Norman), John Loehndorf (Norma), Gerald Loehndorf (Lynn) and sister in laws Lorraine Loehndorf, Lorraine Schweder and Rosemary Burns.
Rita was predeceased by her husband James in 1994 and her brother Raymond Loehndorf. Rita was born November 21, 1922 in Allan, Saskatchewan to John and Mary Loehndorf the oldest of eight children. Rita joined the Air Force (RCAF) in 1941 and served for four years. She met James Schweder in Biggar, Saskatchewan. After the war on July 16, 1946 they married and moved to B.C., where James and Rita opened a Corner Store. In 1960 they started their family and in 1964 came to Kamloops, eventually building a home in Barnhartvale.
Rita loved gardening and doing crafts, spending summer vacations at the Shuswap Lake with her family. She was a loving mother who was devoted to her family and to raising her children.
Prayers will be recited on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The Reverend Father Vincent Asomugha will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at the church on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
On Wednesday, June 2, 2010 Ronald Vernon passed away at the age of 83 years. He was born March 30, 1927 in Wallasey, England and it was there that he met and has been married for 61 years to his wife Olive. Ron has been a dear husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Olive, his son Robert, daughter Lesley and son in law Ken, also grandchildren Michael, John, Jennifer, Jessica and Mark. Ron was a wonderful carpenter all his working life and had built luxury Sailboats.
The family would like to thank Dr. J. Anderson and the wonderful staff at Ponderosa Lodge for their loving care of Ron.

On Thursday, June 3, 2010 Dwight Torben Elder Nilsen passed away peacefully at the age of 41 years. He is survived by his mother Selma (Jim) Umpherson of Toronto, his father Toby of Pinantan Lake, his sister Dr. Sandra Nilsen of Ottawa and his brother Paul (Linda) of Squamish and numerous friends.
Dwight was born September 24, 1968 in Alliston, Ontario. He has made his home in Kamloops the past 29 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

On June 2, 2010 Phyllis Diane Ohs (nee Decker) of Kamloops passed away peacefully at the age of 81 years. She was born October 17, 1928 in Vancouver, B.C.
Phyllis is survived by her sister Elizabeth Johnson (Roger) of Vancouver, B.C., nieces Catherine Cryder (Jim) and Alexandra Kozma, nephew Charles Johnson (Deby), other relatives and her dear friend Helen Knight.

Susan Patricia Aberdeen
April 8, 1961 – June 2, 2010
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Susan on Wednesday, June 2 at Royal Inland Hospital, after a courageous battle with numerous health challenges. Susan is lovingly remembered by her partner Ron Rodgers and her children Andrew and Laura Pineo. She is also survived by her devoted and loving mother Joyce, brothers Jim (Sue) and Ken (Nedy), nieces (Jenn, Siena, Kennedy), nephew (Mitch) and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was predeceased by her brother David and father Malcom. Susan was exceptionally close with her Dad and her family is comforted knowing she is once again back within his loving embrace.
Susan was born in Vancouver, BC and spent her early years exploring Western Canada with her family, until finally settling in Revelstoke to raise her family. Camping provided Susan with some of her most cherished memories and happiest times in both her childhood and adult years. Susan was a devoted and loving mother who always thought the best of people and enjoyed volunteering at her church, children’s schools and other community organizations. She also enjoyed her pets, as they too, played an important role in her life. Most recently, Susan and Ron have enjoyed living in Kamloops.
Susan was a kind soul who showed remarkable strength and perseverance when faced with life’s many challenges. She will be greatly missed by her family for her indomitable spirit, love for her children and family, as well as, her kindness and compassion for others.
A Celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2010 in the Schoening Funeral Chapel with Canon Jack Phelps officiating.
