Wolfgang Wenzel

img_2023On January 28, 2010 Mr. Wolfgang Wenzel passed away at Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops, BC at the age of 72 years.  He is survived by daughters Doris Wenzel and Christina Lousund both of Kamloops, his sons Manfred Wenzel of Amberg, Germany and Martin Lousund of Mackenzie, BC and his first wife Ursula Wenzel of Kamloops.  Also left to cherish his memory are his three grandchildren and his brother Manfred Wenzel of Germany. Wolfgang was predeceased by his second wife Carol Wenzel (nee Lousund).

He was a generous humanitarian with his time in helping friends and neighbours with his carpentry skills.  Wolfgang was renowned as a humorist for the true jokes he pulled on those around him.  He was loved and admired by everyone whose lives he touched.  He will be sorely missed by all.

The family wish to thank all the staff of the Ponderosa Lodge who helped him during his final days.  They were so kind and caring, trying to make him as comfortable as possible whilst in their care.

Also special thanks to Dr. Paul Yanko who has been so good to Wolfgang over the years and who was with him every step of the way.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Schoening Funeral Chapel with Pastor Terry Sauder officiating.

Antonio (Tony) Pietro Corbo

corboOn Monday, February 1, 2010 Mr. Antonio Pietro (Tony) Corbo of Kamloops passed away peacefully at Royal Inland Hospital at the age of 66 years.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Angela, his sons Nick  and Ben (Dienah) both of Kamloops and four grandchildren, Antonio, Natasha, Angelo and Gracie.

Tony was predeceased by a brother and two sisters.

Born on April 29, 1943 in Fragneto, Italy, he came to Canada in 1967.  Tony enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, the outdoors and camping.  He was a long time member of the Colombo Lodge.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Prayers will be recited on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.  The Reverend Father Peter Nguyen will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at the church on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Ronald Laurence Moore

On Monday February 1, 2010 Mr. Ron Moore passed away peacefully at Royal Inland Hospital at the age of 95 years.  He is survived by his loving wife, Doris, his daughter Glenda (Doug) of Calgary, his son Rodney (Barbara) of Phoenix and three grandchildren Chris Hubick, Clayton (Neasreen) Hubick and Aaron Moore and ½ great grandchild.

Ron was predeceased by his sister Marjorie.

Ron will be remembered for his love of music, particularly when playing his beloved violin.  His years with the Golden Serenaders were among his favorite.  He was an ardent model railroader as well as a 55 year member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows.  Ron liked to boat, fish, golf, curl, play bingo and bridge, paint pictures, and travel.  He loved animals and people and delighted in delivering one-liners.  Life for Ron was about being happy and he will be deeply missed.  His kind and wonderful wife of 69 years, Doris knows this more than anyone.  As the very special Dr. Yanko would word it, “We’re all so proud of you, Rockin’ Ronnie”

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at the Renaissance Retirement Residence for their care.

A tea will be held on Friday, February 5, 2010 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Retirement Residence, 628 Tranquille Road.
