DOUGLAS CLIFFORD HALL
January 16, 1939 – February 19, 2010
Doug passed away on February 19 peacefully with his family at his side.
He is survived by his loving wife Benny, son Bob (Kathy), grandchildren Olivia and Garet, daughter Andrea (Michael), grandchildren Blake, Clay and Gillian. He was predeceased by his young son Douglas Christopher Hall in 1980.
A loving, devoted and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend, Doug will be dearly missed. Doug was an amazing man who dedicated 37 years of his life working for the RCMP, commitment to his profession was exceeded only by his love and dedication to his family and close friends.
He enjoyed life to its fullest keeping busy hunting, fishing and camping, he found great joy in spending time with his five grandchildren taking interest and pride in all their activities and accomplishments.
The family would like to sincerely thank Dr.Azad and Dr.Michaud, as well as the nurses in the Intensive Care Unit at Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops, for their wonderful care.

The celebration of Doug’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday February 25, 2010, in the Schoening Funeral Chapel, 513 Seymour Street.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Art after a short courageous battle with mesothelioma at the age of 74.
Art passed away peacefully at Kamloops surrounded by his loving family. Art is survived by his wife Sue (our angel), his seven daughters, Connie (Cleveland) Vann, Pat (Larry) Olynick, Linda (Roger) Cote, Jeannette (Alex) Remple, Joanne (Gord) Cave, Theresa (Russell) Jewitt, Annette (Colby) Woodhead, two stepsons Kurt (Monica) Richter and Kris Richter, seventeen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, four brothers and one sister.
A loving, devoted and caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, Art will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
There will be no formal service at Art’s request, however there will be a come and go at Art and Sue’s home on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, between 2:00 and 4:00 P.M. Friends and family in the Kamloops area are welcome to come offer their condolences. A celebration of Art’s life and interment will be held in Regina, Saskatchewan at a later date.
A special thanks to the staff at The Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice House, Dr. Avannessian and all the staff at the Cancer Clinic at the Royal Inland Hospital, as well as Drs. Hamilton and DeWet.

PETER HOWARD TULK
On February 17, 2010 surrounded by his loving family, Peter Howard Tulk ended a month long, unexpected battle with cancer at the age of 58.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Raelene, who was his bestfriend and the love of his life, their three loving children, sons Peter (Jayme) of Kamloops, Scott of Calgary, daughter Tiffany of Edmonton. As well as their three cherished grandchildren Peter, Chase and Zoey.
He also leaves behind special in-laws, mother, Audrey Lamb (Tony White) of Kamloops, brothers Tom (Elaine) Lamb of Nanaimo and Barry (Debi) Lamb of Vernon. All of whom were by his side during his battle. As were some of his much loved nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by sister, Penny Walch and brother, Mike Tulk of Kelowna.
Peter was predeceased by his father, Peter Tulk, his mother, Aileene Brooker, his sister, Elizabeth Pitman and his father- in-law, Raymond Lamb.
Peter will be greatly missed by the countless friends and associates he made during his 30 years working in the Environmental Service Industry in Kamloops.
Peter’s final days with his family were made very special due to the incredible compassion and care from the wonderful staff of 7 North at RIH.

On Wednesday, February 17, 2010 Evelyn (Evie) passed away peacefully at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home. She was predeceased by her husband Ted on July 1, 1989, her parents, her three sisters, Ellen Carlin, Florence Gipson and Irene Lynch, her only brother Wesley Carey. Evie is survived by her sister in law Florence Carey, her nephews David Carlin (Cindy), Wayne Carey (Maureen), Vic Carey (Barbara), Tom Carey (Colleen), Brent Carey (Peggy), Bill Lynch (Raye), Bob Lynch and niece Donna Tersigni and their families. Also left to cherish her memory, her brother in law Len Gaddy, many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
Evie was born on January 22, 1919 and raised in Claresholm, Alberta, where she completed her schooling and worked in the Post Office. There she met her late husband Ted (RCAF). They were married on August 1, 1942.
After the war ended they moved to Jasper, Alberta, from 1946 to 1965, and then they moved to Monte Creek and Kamloops, Dallas area. Evie moved into Ponderosa Place in January 1994.
I leave much love to my family and many dear friends.
Also special thanks to Dr. Burris for many years of care, also to Dr. Kincade and the staff at the Hospice Home. A special thanks from the family to her many dear friends who where of great assistance in our time of need.
A Graveside Service will be held at Hillside Cemetery on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.

On February 15, 2010, Mrs. Frieda Mary Wheeler passed away peacefully at home at the age of 73 years.
She is survived by her loving husband Les Wheeler, her four daughters Janet Hopkins of Vancouver, BC, Diane (Dave) Demidoff of Okanagan Falls, BC, Loretta (Rolf) Staehli of Logan Lake, BC and Tracey Erickson of Prince George, BC and her son Harold Hewlett of Bella Coolla, BC and seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Also left to cherish her memory are her two brothers and five sisters.
She was predeceased by her son Kenny Hewlett and her two daughters Nicole Wheeler and Jody Wheeler.
A Celebration of Frieda’s life will be held on Saturday, February 20th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Logan Lake Community Church with Reverend Mike Watkins officiating.

TINA M. BAPTISTE
March 12, 1968 – Feb. 12, 2010
Tina Marie Baptiste passed away Friday, February 12, 2010 at the age of 41 years.
She is survived by her parents, Norman (Sonia), Gladys; sisters and brother: Melissa, Arnold, Karen; nieces and nephews: Kathryn, Kaitlyn, Rylan, Jace; her best friend Linda Yates; her pets Mikey and Mimi; her cousins: Ralph, Jules Jr., Joanne Phillips.
Tina was born and raised in Louis Creek. She spent most of her life advocating for low income and homeless people, and those who couldn’t defend themselves. She will be sadly missed by family and her many friends.

DOROTHY MILDRED SCHOFIELD
(nee Duthie)
August 14, 1926 – February 12, 2010
Dorothy passed away peacefully at the age of eighty-three years. She is predeceased by her husband Frederick Schofield and sisters Norah Miller and Janet Lampman. She will be greatly missed by her brother James Duthie (Sheila), children Sharla, Dorie (Don), David, grandchildren Rian, Darcy, David, Amanda, Clayton and Grace and the great grandson that brightened her last days, Coleton.
Dorothy was the third of four children born to James and Mary Duthie. The family homesteaded in the Salmon River Valley after James served with the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada in the First World War. In 1945 Dorothy met and married Fred Schofield who would be her husband for forty-seven years until his passing. Dorothy was an accomplished businesswoman, managing motels, resorts and grocery stores. She was the founding member of the Business and Professional Women’s Group and lobbied the government to remove restrictions on hiring women. In addition to these achievements she led a life of humble service. She was foster mother in the early 1960’s and active in the Kamloops United Church, teaching Sunday School and the Explorers’ Girls Group. Dorothy was a canvasser for the Red Cross and Heart and Stroke Foundation. Here dedication to the Eastern Star was a passion that brought her joy throughout her adult lifetime. Her term as Worthy Matron was a very special experience in her life. Dorothy was honoured as a driving force behind the expansion and updating of Heritage House in Riverside Park. She helped run the Seniors Games for years, taking particular interest in lawn bowling where she took time out to win a few medals. Dorothy had a great love of the outdoors and camping which she shared with and passed on to her family. She was an accomplished seamstress, regularly volunteering assistance ranging from hemming pants to sewing dresses for wedding parties to sewing bandanas for the Cancer Clinic. Dorothy’s gift as an organizer, outgoing nature, keen wit, sense of humour and love and care for others will be sadly missed.
Many thanks to Dr. Doug Hamilton and the caregivers at Ponderosa Lodge for their compassionate care of our mother in her final days.
A Celebration of her life will be held in the Schoening Funeral Chapel on Saturday, February 20 at 1:00 p.m.

We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden and unexpected passing of John Calvin Copley on February 8, 2010. Survived by his loving wife, Zelda of 43 years, his two sons Charlie (Lisa) and Guy (Andrea) and his grandchildren Catana, Flora, Ronin, Chant and Mya and his two brothers George (Sheila) and Bob (Sabina) and numerous nieces and nephews. His love for his family was unconditional and absolute. The times we had with him were so good, it only leaves us wanting more.

On Wednesday, February 3, 2010 Frances Jane Merrifield, born June 26, 1919, passed on to her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Her life was an example of determination, love, faith, and service to her Lord. Her death was an example of compassion, grace, and mercy; Praise be to our Father in Heaven.
Predeceased by her loving husband John after 62 years together on March 25, 2002; also her son Jim and two daughters, Janet and Linda Gail.
She leaves many blessed and fond memories to her daughter Carol Thompson (Don); three grandchildren, Kathleen Follweiter (Warren); Kimberly Dickinson (Mike) and Jim Thompson (Allison); and nine great grandchildren. Also her sister Arla-Mae Bakalyar (Donavan) and brother Al Metzger.
A Service of Remembrance and Prayer will be held at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church (2481 Sunset Drive) in Valleyview at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 10th, with Pastor Gordon Heselton officiating.

A special thank you to Dr. Hollman who befriended and attended to Frances at home for the last few years while she was house bound and for the good care and compassion of the nurses in the ER and 6th south, Royal Inland Hospital.
Dr. Tony Milobar
On Tuesday, February 2, 2010, Dr. Tony Milobar passed away peacefully at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops at the age of 77 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann, his 5 children: David (Sophia), Antony, Elizabeth (Ross), Jennifer (Lee), Peter (Lianne), and his 10 grandchildren: Morgan, Matthew, Rowan, Kayleigh, Dylana, Peter, Avery, Sadie, Ethan, and Jared. Tony also leaves a large extended family, including his brother Michael, sisters Rose, Margaret, Eva, and Mary, and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Tony was predeceased by his mother and father, Eva and Karl and his brother, John.
Born in Edmonton in 1932, Tony spent most of his childhood years in Nordegg, AB. Upon graduation from high school, Tony attended the University of Alberta where he completed his medical degree. Tony and Mary Ann married in 1955, and after his internship in Victoria, the couple moved to Kamloops. Tony began practicing with the Burris Clinic as a general practitioner. In 1965, Tony and family returned to Edmonton where Tony specialized in Internal Medicine. The family returned to Kamloops in 1971 where Tony practiced until his retirement in 2004. Tony was active in the BC Medical Association and served as president from 1978-1979. He served two terms as an alderman for the City of Kamloops from 1982 – 1985. Tony’s commitment to his profession was exceeded only by his love and dedication to his family and close friends. His happiest times were shared with loved ones at the family’s cabin on Shuswap Lake. In his later years, Tony found his greatest joy in spending time with his beloved grandchildren, taking interest and pride in all their activities.
The family extends sincere thanks to Dr. Wijeysinghe, Dr. Michaud and the nursing staff of the RIH Renal Unit and 7 North for their dedicated and compassionate care. The family would like to recognize the many other physicians and health care professionals who also provided exemplary care to Tony in recent years.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 1 pm at the Calvary Community Church, 1205 Rogers Way, Kamloops, BC with a reception to follow.
